Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. praised Tom Brady and Bill Belichick ahead of Cleveland's Week 8 matchup with the Patriots.

Beckham told reporters that he dreamed of playing alongside Brady and would have been willing to join the Patriots at the drop of a hat (via Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com).

Odell Beckham Jr. lights up when he talks about Patriots coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady, like a kid considering a trip to Disney World.

“Two, three years ago there was a whole speculation and all that was going on and I was willing and ready to go over there at any point in time,’’ Beckham said. “That was always a dream of mine to play for Tom Brady — Tom Brady and [Bill] Belichick.’’

Of course, most wide receivers would love to play with the man that is widely regarded as the greatest quarterback in NFL history. But in Beckham's case, the desire is especially strong.

There were rumors that the Patriots would pursue Beckham in a trade in 2018, but the polarizing superstar signed a massive contract extension with the New York Giants before he was traded to the Browns in May.

Although OBJ is one of the most talented receivers in the league, his career has entered a period of stagnation. Beckham battled through injuries and poor quarterback play in his final years in New York, and Baker Mayfield has had a rough start to his sophomore season with the Browns.

Through the first six games of the year, Beckham has 29 catches for 436 yards and just one touchdown. He figures to be the main playmaker in the passing game if the Browns hope to turn their season around.
