The New England Patriots are Super Bowl champions once again with the AFC East powerhouse recently defeating the surging Los Angeles Rams to cap off the 2018-19 campaign. However, the Patriots were forced to earn title No. 6 without the services of veteran defensive back Patrick Chung, who exited the contest prematurely due to a significant arm injury.

On Monday, Chung shared with the world just how serious his arm injury was.

Chung could be seen leaving the field of play with his right arm in an air cast, which almost always signifies a break or fracture. Forced to undergo surgery to the broken arm, Chung has since received 23 stitches to help repair the damage ahead of next season. If that isn't enough already, the veteran defender is also expected to undergo shoulder surgery in the coming weeks to correct yet another injury.

As for the Patriots as a whole, New England has now won two of the last three Super Bowls after defeating both the aforementioned Rams and Atlanta Falcons, with the pair of victories sandwiching a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles two years ago. Not only that, but the Patriots have also won three of the last five Super Bowls as well with future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady currently sporting a 6-3 record in title games.

Despite encountering a slew of devastating injuries to key players over the years, the Patriots never seem to miss a beat come playoff time. To absolutely no one's surprise, the 2018-19 season was no different.
