The New England Patriots are reportedly looking to provide quarterback Tom Brady another “premium” receiver before Tuesday’s trade deadline at 4 pm ET. The Broncos’ Demaryius Thomas and the Lions’ Golden Tate are two veteran wideouts reportedly on their radar.

During his most recent appearance on Westwood One, Brady talked about the Patriots' supposed interest in adding another receiver.

“I think any time you can improve your team, you owe it to your team to do that, Brady said. “I think we're trying obviously to improve like always. We've made a lot of trades at the deadline over the years. Coach Belichick makes all those decisions, he explores any opportunity that he thinks can help us, whether it's on the offensive side or defensive side of the ball. We're always looking for good players, so however that ends up, that's up to Coach Belichick to decide.”

Brady went 29 of 45 for 324 yards against the Buffalo Bills to lead the Patriots to a 25-6 win on Monday Night Football. However, he failed to throw a touchdown pass for the first time in a game since his last visit to Buffalo last December.

Julian Edelman and James White were once again Brady’s most targeted receivers as they combined for 19 of his 29 completions. Josh Gordon had four catches while Chris Hogan added two.

As potent as the Patriots offense has proven to be this season, the addition of another reliable receiver like Thomas or Tate could take their passing attack to another level. But they face a race against time to get a deal done by this afternoon’s deadline.
