Former New England Patriots quarterback Brian Hoyer didn't play a lot while with the team, but he was still a huge part of the locker room and a big influence on future Hall of Famer Tom Brady. During an appearance on WEEI, Brady said it was difficult when he found out the news the team was moving on from Hoyer because the two were so close.

Brady talked about a lot of the other positives but the one thing that stuck out was how good Hoyer was at bringing Brady back to center.

If Brady or someone else made a mistake and he would get frustrated, it would be Hoyer that would help calm him.

“Brian provided a lot,” Brady said via Pro Football Talk. “He was a great quarterback for our team and he won an offseason award. He just brought a great positive energy to the team. Always optimistic and I think there’s times for me that I get frustrated or I get down or disappointed with things that may have happened and he would always try and bring me back to center pretty quickly. I love the relationship I have with him. It will certainly continue on in its own personal way. We just won’t be working together.”

The Patriots decided they only wanted to keep one quarterback and decided on rookie Jarrett Stidham. Hoyer has moved on and signed with the Indianapolis Colts and will try to be that calming factor for former Patriots quarterback Jacoby Brissett as he takes over for Andrew Luck.
