The New England Patriots' offense labored once again in Week 13, and this time, it came back to bite them, as they fell to the Houston Texans by a score of 28-22 in a potential playoff preview on Sunday night.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has expressed his displeasure in the offense numerous times of late, and after the loss to the Texans, he once again bemoaned the lack of offensive production.

“Just execution, just have to do a better job. It’s tough to get behind and come back. We put ourselves in a pretty deep hole and you can’t do that on the road,” Brady said, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN.com. “We didn’t get the job done. A loss is a loss, and learn from it and try to move on to next week.”

Brady completed 24 of his 47 throws for 326 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. That looks alright on the surface, but two of those scores came when New England was down 28-9.

“I think we’ll be all right. What I did see is a team that fought to the end, so you can take that and you can build off that,” said wide receiver Julian Edelman. “It was ugly out there a little bit here and there. We didn’t play the way we wanted to. But you got to tip your hat to Houston. They played a hell of a game.”

The Pats are an impressive 10-2 on the season and appear to be well on their way to locking down yet another first-round bye, but their offense continues to be a problem week in and week out.

You really have to wonder if this will end up preventing them from reaching their fourth straight Super Bowl, regardless of how well Brady tends to play in January.
