New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is generally considered the greatest NFL player of all-time. He already has five Super Bowl rings and is about to play for a sixth in Minnesota. However, the Deflategate saga will forever leave a stain on his remarkable resume.

Brady was suspended for the first four games in 2016 as punishment handed down by the league for his part in allegations that the team had deliberately under-inflated footballs during a 2015 playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts.

In the first episode of his new Facebook docuseries “Tom vs. Time,” Brady revealed that he still keeps his Deflategate suspension letter from the NFL.

The sheer derision in Tom Brady’s voice as he says “Thank you” is a crystal-clear indication that he still hasn’t gotten over Deflategate.

It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that Brady has kept that letter. As someone who has fed off all kinds of adversity to fuel him since he came into the league, it makes sense that he has held on to that keepsake as a reminder of what he likely feels was the injustice handed down on him.

That added fuel has clearly worked, which is likely why Brady thanked them. Brady has been on an incredible tear ever since returning from that four-game suspension, going 24-4 in the regular season and 5-0 in the postseason.

Brady and the Patriots ultimately got their revenge on Roger Goodell and the league by going on to the Super Bowl in the most incredible fashion last season, forcing Goodell to hand them the Lombardi Trophy. He will have the chance to do that one more time if they manage to get past the Philadelphia Eagles on Feb. 4.
