It's rare that you see a player get fined for multiple incidents in one game, but New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman suffered such a fate this week, according to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk.

The NFL fined Edelman $63,504 for three separate fouls during the Patriots' win over the Buffalo Bills last Sunday. Two of the fouls cost Edelman $26,739 each and the other resulted in a $10,026 fine.

This is actually pretty significant for Edelman, as his base salary is $2 million for this season. That means those fines will cost the wide out roughly half of his weekly pay.

Edelman caught six passes for 70 yards and a touchdown in the midst of the fine-fest.

Overall this season, the 32-year-old has hauled in 69 receptions for 781 yards and five scores in 11 games. He was suspended for the first four games of the year after testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs.

Edelman, who played his collegiate football at Kent State University, was originally selected by New England in the seventh round (232nd pick overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft.

He played a small role in his first few years in the league, mainly specializing on special teams before becoming a much larger part of the Pats' passing game in 2013.

That season, Edelman snared 105 balls for 1,056 yards and six touchdowns, marking the first of two 1,000-yard seasons for the Redwood City, Ca. native.

Edelman missed the entire 2017 campaign after tearing his ACL in preseason.

The Patriots can lock up a first-round bye with a win over the New York Jets this Sunday.
