New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady turns 42 years old next month and is entering his 20th NFL season, but he remains pumped to play the game he loves.

According to Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, Brady is “excited as ever” for the 2019 campaign and is getting closer and closer to being ready to report for training camp.

Brady is coming off of a 2018 season in which he threw for 4,355 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions while completing 65.8 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 97.7 en route to a Pro Bowl appearance. Most importantly, Brady went on to lead the Patriots to their sixth Super Bowl championship.

The doubters were louder than ever this past year, as a second-half slump by Brady had many wondering whether or not the future Hall-of-Famer had finally reached the “cliff.”

But Brady then went on to silence his naysayers for the umpteenth time, putting together a couple of vintage performances in leading New England to yet another Super Bowl appearance. And while Brady wasn't spectacular in the Super Bowl, he made some key throws and did just enough to help the Pats to defeat the Los Angeles in a 13-3 slobber knocker.

Now, Brady will likely once again hear the same cynicism heading into 2019, as he is another year older and is another year closer to the end of the road. But as the GOAT has proven countless times throughout his storied career, doubt him at your own peril.

As for the Patriots? They are not only aiming for their seventh Super Bowl but their 11th straight AFC East division title.
