New England quarterback Cam Newton tossed a touchdown pass to running back Rex Burkhead Sunday night, bringing the Patriots back into a tie with the visiting Baltimore Ravens.

In completing the pass to Burkhead, Newton was credited with only his third touchdown pass of the season, and first since week three of the NFL season.

With their staring QB struggling, New England had lost three consecutive games for the first time in the Bill Belichick era, though they rebounded during last week's game against the lowly New York Jets.

That Cam has started the match against Baltimore with a tidy 5/7 passing performance–despite facing a blitz by the defense on six of those plays–is certain to raise the hopes of the New England brass that he has turned a corner.

The reception was Burkhead's fourth of the season, as the veteran back has established himself as a key part of the Patriots' offense. Though he has yet to break the century mark in rushing, in any game this season, Burkhead has accrued over 400 yards from scrimmage thus far.

With two minutes remaining in the second quarter, the Ravens have retaken the lead, 10-7.
