Anthony Davis is no stranger to having big games, regardless of when it’s played. From back-to-back sets, holidays, and even the playoffs, the New Orleans Pelicans big man always finds a way to perform at a high level and produce impressive stat lines.

During the Pelicans' season opener on Wednesday against the Memphis Grizzlies, The Brow once again rose to the occasion, and showed that he is in great condition to start the season. His numbers on the night allowed him to enter the history books, as he joined the great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the only players in NBA history to record at least 30 points and 15 rebounds in consecutive season openers.

In October 26th of last year, he was able to score 50 points, to go along with 15 rebounds, five assists, five steals, and four blocks against the Denver Nuggets. He followed it up with another sensational first game of the season, as he recorded 33 points, 18 rebounds, and a block in 40 minutes of action on Wednesday night.

The only negative news for him and the Pelicans is that they failed to come out victorious despite his monster effort, losing to the Grizzlies, 103-91. They will have a chance to make up for it on Friday though, when they play their first home game of the season. However, it won't be an easy task, as they will go up against the defending champions, the Golden State Warriors, who are hungry for a win as well after losing to the Houston Rockets in their first game.
