The New Orlean Pelicans haven't had many successful injury updates about Zion Williamson, but that changed on Wednesday.

According to Shams Charania, the Pelicans say Zion Williamson is showing improved bone healing in his right foot and he will gradually progress to full weight-bearing exercises and basketball activity.

With all of the recent controversy surrounding Zion and the Pelicans, it will be fantastic to see him back on the floor at some point.

It's possible that the Pelicans decide to keep him out for the rest of the season simply because they aren't in a position to compete and he is their team's future. They are, however, a team that could sneak into the playoffs, and if they do, and Zion is playing his best basketball while fully healthy, they could be a team capable of making some noise if things go their way.

It's uncertain how long this process will take, but the Pelicans are hoping that Zion will fully recover from his injury and be able to return to the court and demonstrate why he was one of the best young players in the league.

Before this injury, the youngster was already averaging 25 points and seven rebounds per game in his brief career.

It will be interesting to see if he is still the same player he was before his injury when he returns to the court when he is healthy, but there's no reason to believe he won't be because he has been a superstar his entire life.
