Detroit Pistons assistant coach Tim Hardaway has been sentenced following his DUI arrest in April.

Hardaway was given 18 months probation and 10 days of community service as punishment for drinking and driving.

The judge ordered him to undergo alcohol and drug testing and issued a fine of $2,045 in court fees.

He was arrested in April near his home in Beverly Hills, Michigan for speeding with a BAC of .17.

After vowing to fight the charge Hardaway remorsefully plead no contest and accepted his punishment.

President of Basketball Operations Stan Van Gundy spoke on Hardaway's behalf, but gave no indication if the team or the league will also issue punishment for his acts.

It's an unfortunate situation that Tim feels very badly about. But it's one time. As soon as it happened – the initial thing, in April – I talked to Tom (Gores) as I always do on things and we talked it through. We move on.
