With the NBA trade deadline approaching, several reports have circulated that the Detroit Pistons will make a trade revolving around star Jerami Grant.
The Pistons are searching for two first-round draft picks, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Given that the Pistons are still in the midst of a rebuilding phase and can utilize any of the draft selections they receive, it's understandable that they're seeking two first-round picks. When you consider that they'd have to receive back a couple of guys given Grant's contract, it's a deal that the Pistons are likely to be happy to accept.
With less than 24 hours till the trade deadline, it will be intriguing to see what kind of transactions are made throughout the league, with Jerami Grant and the Pistons being one of the major names to keep an eye on. It's unclear why a deal hasn't been reached yet, but the Pistons have been said to be trying to reach a trade before the deadline on Thursday.
If Detroit is able to reclaim draft picks and a few young players who they believe may assist the franchise in the future, they will consider this a win. They aren't in a position to win right now, thus they can't afford to let Jerami Grant leave for less than he is worth, or the rebuilding process will take longer.
It will be interesting to see where he goes, but expect the deal to be made sometime soon.
