Detroit Pistons point guard Reggie Jackson has played in all 68 games this season, but his health appeared to be in question when he suffered an ankle sprain against the Miami Heat on Wednesday.

But after some rigorous work from Detroit's medial staff, Jackson is probable to play against the Toronto Raptors this afternoon.

Jackson suffered the injury after stepping on Heat center Zaza Pachulia's foot, but the Pistons were quick to take action in preventing further setbacks. Jackson told Rob Beard of The Detroit News:

“Just a lot of treatment and staying off of it and a lot of ice from the med staff,” Jackson said. “They did a great of being creative and attacking it from a lot of angles, whether it be massaging, stimulation, icing or heat treatment.”

“It was a nonstop two-day process of just getting treatment. (Thursday) was an off-day for us and by the time I looked up, I was at the practice facility for four or five hours of treatment.”

Detroit has missed the playoffs the last two seasons, but they are primed to make a return thanks in part to Jackson's efficient play.

The 28-year-old, now in his fifth season with the Pistons, is averaging 15.3 points and 4.3 assists on just 1.7 turnovers and a career-high 37 percent shooting from beyond the arc. Jackson has also started all 68 games.

Jackson was acquired in a three-team deal before the 2016 trade deadline, but his time in Detroit has been muddied by trade rumors and persistent injuries.

But with Jackson playing some of his best basketball alongside Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond, the Pistons will look to turn some heads in the playoffs. Detroit is three games clear of the Heat for the eighth and final spot in the Eastern Conference.
