In recent news, LaVar Ball has made headlines again, and it isn't from promoting his brand or making an outrageous statement about himself. This time, the Ball family patriarch sharply criticized Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton. This has caught the ire of many head coaches, and Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy had a NFSW response to ESPN's constant coverage of Ball, according to Rod Beard of Detroit News.

Ball has been critical of the Lakers since his son, Lonzo Ball, was first drafted in the NBA. With his harsh remarks against Walton, NBA head coaches have criticized ESPN for going through the lengths to cover Ball. In fact, Rick Carlisle recently expressed his disgust with the ESPN's coverage of Ball, according to Rexwell Villas of ClutchPoints.

ESPN is a partner, an NBA partner and they’ve been a great one. But part of that partnership is that…the coaches do a lot of things to help them with access, interviews, all those kinds of things. And in exchange for that they should back up the coaches. Printing an article where the father of an NBA player has an opinion that is printed as anything legitimate erodes trust.

Now that Van Gundy has joined the fray, it appears that NBA coaches are getting fed up with the attention that Ball is being shown by ESPN, an NBA partner. Granted, media organizations are responsible for aggregating news without discrimination. However, Van Gundy believes that news surrounding Ball's erroneous comments should be denied the priority of exposure by top media outlets such as ESPN.
