Beyond the Detroit Pistons' strong start out of the gate to this season, there have been some notable offensively struggles from third-year forward Stanley Johnson.

There had been the expectation that he would find his footing on that end of the floor in his third full season in the league but that hasn't exactly been the case this year. All of this has yet to waver any confidence from head coach Stan Van Gundy in the 21 year old, according to Ansar Khan of MLive.com.

“I'd like it more if the ball went in, but he'll find his shot eventually, so I'm not really worried about him,” Van Gundy said.

Johnson is currently averaging 8.8 points on 40.3 percent shooting from the field and 33.3 percent from three-point range along with 3.2 rebounds in 30.8 minutes per game while starting each of the 10 first games of the season for the Pistons. However, he has continued to struggle to break through offensively as he has only reached double-figures three times over that stretch scoring no more than 15 points.

He has also gone scoreless once in the loss to the Philadelphia 76ers missing his only field goal attempt in 18 minutes played and went 0-for-13 in the season opener. This has all put more scrutiny on Johnson given the opportunity he has continued to receive being starter despite these shooting woes.

Even with that being the case, Johnson will have more chances ahead of him this season to prove he can finally break through offensively.
