Veteran forward Tobias Harris is set to enter his second full season with the Detroit Pistons since being acquired from the Orlando Magic.

It will also mark him playing in the third year of his four-year, $64 million deal that he has no player or team option for the final year.  According to Chris Nelsen in a special piece for The Detroit Free Press, Harris wants to make Detroit his long-term home in the NBA.

“It's a blessing to be here,” Harris said at Wednesday night's Building Bridges through Basketball program at the S.A.Y. Detroit Play Center.

“I hope it's a place I can stay. You never know with the NBA business, but at the same time, I like it here. I believe winning will solve a lot of things. That's why I'm looking forward to a great year and building with this team.”

The 25-year-old has quickly established himself as one of the core pieces of the team behind his strong play as he's coming off another campaign where averaged 16.1 points on a career-high 48.1 percent shooting from the field and 34.7 from beyond the arc with 5.1 rebounds while playing in all 82 games with 48 starts at both forward positions.

Harris is an important piece to the puzzle for the Pistons due to his versatility on the floor and his level of consistency on the offensive end. If he's able to continue to remain a reliable contributor, there would be no reason to believe that the front office won't make a concerted effort to keep him around.
