PUBG remains one of the scene's most significant battle royales given their hand at establishing the genre. 2021 is no different for the progenitor of battle royales as four first-party tournaments are set to take place across the year. PUBG fell out of public favor since its initial early access release but its esports side is alive and well. The tournaments culminate in the PUBG Global Championship sometime in November 2021.

PUBG Events Abound

The tournaments outside the PGC include an eight-week-long online/LAN PUBG Global Invitational.S event. 32 teams face off in a wild race for the massive USD 3.5 million prize pool. The PGIS kicks off tomorrow. Additionally, the fourth and fifth iteration of the PUBG Continental Series takes place in June and September respectively.

The PGI.S marks the PUBG Corporation's triumphant return to global events. Undoubtedly, hosting esports events has become a nightmare due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
