Former Oakland Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper says that head coach Jon Gruden didn't want to trade him away from the franchise.

Cooper was sent to the Dallas Cowboys back in October for a first-round draft pick, and it's certainly worked out in his favor. He's racked up two games with 180 or more receiving yards while also posting six touchdowns since joining the Cowboys.

However, apparently, Gruden wasn't in favor of sending the star wideout elsewhere.

Instead, the decision to trade Cooper to Dallas was one that was made by someone with even more power in the Raiders organization.

From Calvin Watkins of The Athletic:

Had an interesting talk with Amari Cooper today. He said Raiders owner Mark Davis wanted to make the trade and not Jon Gruden. Teams were offering a 2020 first rounder and the Raiders were turning that down until the Cowboys came calling.

And there you have it. In Cooper's eyes, it was Davis who pushed for the trade and not Gruden.

That news probably won't make Oakland fans too happy, as they're currently dealing with lots of turmoil while Cooper is thriving in Dallas.

While the Raiders are coming off a 24-21 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, they're facing lots of decisions off the field.

Gruden and company still have to find a new permanent general manager after the firing of Reggie McKenzie, and there's also concerns with where the team will play next season after the federal lawsuit filed by the city of Oakland.

So, this particular development is just one of many reasons why fans of the franchise are growing more and more impatient with the current regime.
