After nearly a decade, Derek Carr and Davante Adams are reunited. The Fresno State Bulldogs teammates are back together again with Adams' recent trade to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Since the trade back in March, the duo revealed that they worked on reuniting after the conclusion of the 2021-2022 season.

However, Derek's brother, David Carr, recently said just how long the Raiders had their eyes set on Adams.

“It's been something that they've tried to make happen for five years now since Davante signed his contract extension several years ago with the Packers,” Carr said on the Rich Eisen Show. “Derek was pushing to get him there and Davante was really close. A couple of years ago, they were really close to making that happen.”

Carr is referencing Adams' four-year, $58.75 million contract extension that he signed with the Green Bay Packers in December of 2017. Now, roughly four and a half years later, we learn that the Raiders were a serious landing spot for Adams, who would've been a free agent in 2018 without the extension.

While the duo would have certainly liked to have linked up then, it's better late than never, and neither is leaving anytime soon. Adams signed his five-year, $140 million contract with the Raiders, and Carr signed a three-year, $121.5 million extension with the Raiders. If they can connect the same way they did at Fresno State, the rest of the AFC West has some stiff competition.
