Antonio Brown was released by the Oakland Raiders after a drama-filled offseason on Saturday. It didn't take long for him to latch on with the New England Patriots, which has upset many fans and media members. Either way, things were not going to work out for Brown in Oakland.

One of his last acts as a member of the Raiders was to use a recording of Jon Gruden talking to him. Soon after that move, Brown asked for his release and it was granted.

Since releasing his conversation with Gruden, some have wondered if there could be some legal issues in play now that he has been released. That won't be the case, however, as Gruden approved the use of their phone call for Brown.

That report comes from ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Brown's tenure with the Raiders will go down as one of the biggest mistakes for any franchise. While they only gave up a third and fifth-round pick to acquire him from the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first place, it's still a major waste. And for Brown to end up back where he originally wanted to be anyway is awful.

Add in the fact that reports have come out proving that Brown was trying to force his way out of Oakland from the beginning, and this entire situation becomes suspect.

All of that being said, Bill Belichick and the Patriots could not be more happy with how everything turned out. New England already looked lethal offensively against the Steelers on Sunday night and they are going to be adding one of the best wide receivers in the game for Tom Brady next week.
