The Oakland Raiders are champing at the bit for the 2019 NFL Draft after accumulating two late-first-round picks and the fourth overall pick for their unfortunate 2018 season. One player every team is excited about and would love to draft is Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Kyler Murray.

Head coach Jon Gruden and general manager Mike Mayock may be tempted to trade up in the draft to get the first overall pick from the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals are likely to keep the pick, but they carry a lot of power with the pick. Gruden and Mayock clearly love the potential Murray possesses, but trading up for the pick is the only way to acquire Murray. As the draft draws near, it's increasingly clear Murray is beginning to be the consensus number one pick.

The Raiders would publicly put forth the notion that they would move on from current quarterback Derek Carr if they do take Murray. Either way, taking a potential draft pick to dinner and then having him deliver a private workout likely doesn't leave Carr with a comforting feeling.

The potential of Murray is obvious and his athleticism is incredibly impressive, so it's easy to understand why teams are viewing him as a once-in-a-lifetime player. The Raiders would be essentially handing the team over to Murray, as any team would upon drafting him. This season's draft could be full of surprises, but the Raiders could come up with the biggest surprise if they pull off a trade to acquire Kyler Murray.
