Khalil Mack is entering the last year of his rookie contract, and he has made it clear that he wants a new contract. He hasn't been working with the team during voluntary OTAs, and some of the Oakland Raiders coaches aren't very happy about it.
Defensive coordinator Paul Guenther said after practice Tuesday he doesn't know if Mack will be back when the practices become mandatory, but the longer he stays away the farther behind he is going to fall.
“He’s going to have a lot of catching up to do,” Guenther said via SF Gate. “We’re going to have to have a plan for that, for sure. But really I’m concerned about the guys that are here now working. These guys have been busting their tails every day, coming in early, meeting with the coaches, being great in meeting rooms, communicating on the field.”
If Mack doesn't show up when the practices become mandatory, he could be fined $84,435 for missing the three days.

With a new system being installed, it's even more important that all players are present, especially the guy that the defense is supposed to be built around.
The team has still been able to install the defense with the players that have been in attendance. The mandatory portion of the camp starts on June 12th, so it will be worth watching if Mack makes an appearance then.
