We may not have heard the last of Richie Incognito. It seemed like the polarizing and controversial guard was finally fading away into retirement, but now it sounds like he's making a comeback. The Oakland Raiders are working out Incognito on Monday, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

Incognito sat out the entire 2018 season after being cut by the Bills. He initially retired after 2017, then announced he was un-retiring, but the Bills didn't want him back.

Garafolo writes that “word is he’s in shape and feeling well in all aspects,” and adds that he “wants to play again.”

He's still 35, so it's not inconceivable that he could be ready to help a team. Incognito, of course, has been involved in many controversial incidents since entering the league.

He was at the center of the league's bullying scandal involving teammate Jonathan Martin years ago, and he was accused of using racial slurs toward Jaguars defensive end Yannick Ngakoue during the 2017 season.

For what it's worth, the two later made up. Incognito was then placed on an “involuntary psychiatric hold” last May, and arrested for an outburst at a funeral home last August.

Despite his distractions, Incognito managed to stick in the NFL because he developed into one of the league's better guards for a while. He made the Pro Bowl in each of his last three seasons with Buffalo, and the Raiders could use some offensive line help.

It wouldn't be surprising if Jon Gruden decided to sign him even with all the baggage he brings.
