The Oakland Raiders are set to sign former Buffalo Bills quarterback Nathan Peterman ahead of the Week 16 matchup against the Denver Broncos.

Peterman was released by the Bills back on Nov. 12, which ended his less than stellar tenure with the franchise after he entered the league back in 2017.

However, it seems like Jon Gruden sees enough in the second-year quarterback to add him to the Oakland roster, according to Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal:

Raiders are signing former Bills QB Nathan Peterman, source said. He worked out and took a physical today. A done deal.

Peterman played in four games this season for Buffalo, where he threw for 296 yards and a touchdown while posting seven interceptions and a 30.7 quarterback rating.

Unfortunately, the numbers from his rookie season weren't much better, as he completed just 49.0 percent of his passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns while throwing five picks.

The Raiders obviously aren't planning on Peterman being their quarterback of the future, as Derek Carr's improved play in recent weeks has at least given some encouragement to Gruden and his staff.

Oakland will now prepare for the Monday Night Football showdown against the Broncos in what could be the team's final game at Oakland Coliseum.

With plenty of uncertainties surrounding the franchise's future, there's no doubt that this game will feature a rowdy atmosphere given all the circumstances surrounding it.

The Raiders will finish up the regular season in Week 17 when they take on the Kansas City Chiefs.
