The Oakland Raiders are expected to sign wide receiver Tyrell Williams, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Williams spent the 2018 campaign with the Los Angeles Chargers, playing in all 16 games and hauling in 41 receptions for 653 yards and five touchdowns.

The 27-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Western Oregon, went undrafted but eventually landed with the Chargers in 2015. He played in just five games that season, logging a pair of catches for 90 yards and a score.

Williams' role then grew drastically the following season, as he caught 69 passes for 1,059 yards while reaching the end zone seven times and looked to be one of the top up-and-coming wide outs in the league.

However, in 2017, he took a step back, snaring 43 balls for 728 yards and four touchdowns.

Still, for a Raiders team that came into the offseason needing some help in the passing game, Williams is a terrific pickup, especially in conjunction with Antonio Brown, whom Oakland traded for earlier this week.

The Raiders are coming off of a season in which they won just four games. Oakland has made the playoffs just once since last making the Super Bowl during the 2002-03 campaign and have posted just one winning season over that span.

Jon Gruden is now in his second stint as Raiders head coach, beginning his second go-around with the club by trading off two of its top players in Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper for multiple first-round draft picks.

Gruden's first stretch as Oakland's head coach began in 1998 and went through 2001.
