Disgraced former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs will be facing prison time over the tragic car crash that took the life of a 23-year-old woman.

But now his sentence could virtually be doubled given the latest additional charges being slapped against the ex-Raiders star.

Henry Ruggs was initially being charged with two felony charges of DUI and reckless driving, both resulting in death after he crashed his Chevrolet Corvette into the victim's Toyota Rav4 while driving speeds up to 156mph a few miles off the Las Vegas strip. Ruggs was said to have had twice the legal alcohol level in his bloodstream. The maximum prison sentence for such charges was listed at 20 years.

Now Clark Country prosecutors intend to pile on even more time on that with additional charges for DUI and reckless driving resulting in substantial bodily harm, according to a report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

This was over the injuries sustained by his longtime girlfriend who was sitting in the passenger's seat during the crash. Ruggs is also being hit with an additional misdemeanor after a loaded gun was also found stashed in his vehicle.

The Las Vegas Raiders immediately released Henry Ruggs III immediately after the news went public.
