Tom Brady has been in the news a lot lately. One of the more forgotten about stories related to the legendary QB is his pending bid to become a partial owner in the Las Vegas Raiders. The potential deal could be getting a crucial update later this week.

According to Washington Post's Mark Maske, it is unlikely that NFL owners will vote on Brady's proposed acquisition of a portion of the Las Vegas Raiders at this week's meeting in Nashville.

The deal is still pending before the NFL finance committee, where it has been for several months.

If there is no vote this week, then Brady and the Raiders could be in for another long wait. The next scheduled meeting where a vote could take place is in October.

One concern related to this potential deal is Brady's upcoming work with FOX as the network's lead analyst (more on that in a minute). Being a part-owner of an NFL team and an analyst with FOX could create a conflict of interest. While Brady would have a fiduciary responsibility to the Raiders, he would also have access to proprietary information regarding the team's opponents and competitors.

The league said last week that there are no limitations on the games Brady can work while at FOX because he's “not an owner of the Raiders.” This quote implies that some things would change at FOX if Brady's acquisition of a stake in the Raiders becomes official.

Brady joins FOX as lead analyst for 2024 NFL season

Brady will replace Greg Olsen as FOX's lead analyst for the 2024 NFL season.

Tom Brady inked a massive 10-year $375 million contract in 2022 and will finally begin working with the network. He will be working with FOX's lead play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt.

Brady and Burkhardt's first game together will be a Week 1 matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Browns.

“I believe I can provide a pretty unique perspective that I think a lot of people will really like. It’s going to be a lot of hard work. It’s going to be a lot of fun,” Brady told Front Office Sports. “It’s always about challenging yourself to grow in different areas. And this is certainly one way that I’m doing it.”

Tom Brady reacts to Netflix roast

Brady also made the news last week when he spoke about his regrets participating in his recent Netflix roast.

On a recent episode of The Pivot Podcast, Brady shared his true feelings after processing the roast.

“I loved when the jokes were about me, I thought they were so fun, I didn't like the way it affected my kids,” Brady said, “so it's the hardest part about like the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all a sudden you realize I wouldn't do that again because of the way that it affected actually the people that I care about the most in the world.”

Brady also mentioned that his children are now old enough to understand the jokes. He did not anticipate how upset his children or ex-wife Gisele Bundchen would be about the roast.
