The NFL free agency window is now in full swing. The Las Vegas Raiders have made their move and it comes in the form of the signing of free agent pass-rusher Yannick Ngakoue, who could be the Raiders' answer to Patrick Mahomes.

This report comes via Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal:

On the opening day of NFL free agency, the Raiders have agreed to terms with veteran defensive end Yannick Ngakoue, a source close to the situation confirmed.

This was also confirmed by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network:

The details of the deal have yet to be revealed, but there's no denying that the Raiders have made a splash with this signing. Ngakoue is one of the top pass-rushers in the league today, and it goes without saying the Raiders have AFC West rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs, and Mahomes in mind with this recent transaction.

The Raiders cleared a significant amount of cap space leading up to free agency, and they did not waste their time in executing their plans once the window opened. Las Vegas' first priority was to bring in a new pass-rusher and as it is, they have decided that Ngakoue fits the bill for them. The Raiders have every intention of making a more significant impact on the league in 2021, and the Ngakoue signing is a clear indication of how serious they are about competing for a title this season.
