The Los Angeles Rams have tied down their quarterback of the future in Jared Goff. The California native confirmed that he is more than ready to turn out and play good football after securing such a big contract.

He is tied to the Rams for four years with a $134 million wage bill. With such a big payday, it's easy to think that these players will step off the gas a bit and enjoy life.

However, the quarterback confirmed in a Rams press release that he is now excited to get on the field more than ever. The former California product is eager to prove to everyone that the big contract he got was deserved and that he is motivated to step up for the coming season.

“Definitely. It definitely increases your urgency a little bit when you know that type of commitment, but I don’t feel like it will change my process or anything. But, I do understand the responsibility of it and all that stuff that goes with it.”

It's hard not to see why the Chargers have decided to give him the $110 million guaranteed money. He has consistently improved ever since he first took a snap for the Rams in 2016. His passing yards in his second year was at an astonishing 3,804 after a measly 1,089 yards his rookie year. He even stepped it up last year, completing 4,688 passing yards for 12.9 yards per pass completion.

Thanks to his incredible performances, the Rams finished at the top of the NFC West and made it all the way to Super Bowl LIII. The team will be expecting more of the same from him as the years go on.
