Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley was dominating headlines late last season as a knee injury caused him problems. It limited the running back in the Super Bowl even and many believed it would severely shorten his career.

According to Josh Alper of ProFootballTalk.com, quarterback Jared Goff is standing up for his running back.

Jared Goff believes the narrative surrounding Todd Gurley is “unfair”, and honestly that makes sense. As anyone on the outside, it's easy to speculate the worst. Gurley was limited late last year and with reports of “arthritis in his knee” people thought his career was already at the beginning of the end.

This led to people saying Gurley would never be the same. Talking about what he'd need to do to live up to the hype and his contract.

In the end though, no one really knows the entire situation accept Gurley himself and probably the Los Angeles Rams. Therefore, it's kind of unfair to speculate. Yes, it's part of many people's jobs to guess what's happening but that doesn't mean they're right. Taking that word for Gospel is unfair to Gurley.

Even if the situation is bad though, Goff did exactly what he should do. As the quarterback, he's a built-in leader of the team. He defended his superstar running back just as he should – and just as he'd likely do for anyone else on his roster.

It's further proof that this Los Angeles Rams team is tight-knit and that Jared Goff is a leader.

Meanwhile, even if he is injured – let's not pretend like any team wouldn't love to have Todd Gurley on their roster right now.
