The Los Angeles Rams are three-point favorites over the New Orleans Saints in Week 2 of the 2019 NFL season.
BetOnline.ag posted the latest NFL bettings and odds on April 22. It revealed the Rams are favorites to beat the Saints in their matchup at the L.A. Stadium on September 15.
Thousands of fans will watch the anticipated game live and on television. After all, this is the rematch of the controversial 2018 NFC Championship Game.
That was the game where the officials missed a controversial defensive pass interference call on the Rams' Nickell Robey-Coleman. With the score tied at 20 apiece, Robey-Coleman shoved Lewis out of bounds on third down.
The officials didn't blow any whistle. Consequently, Saints head coach Sean Payton went ballistic on the sideline.
The Rams went on to win, 23-20, behind Greg Zuerlein's 57-yard field goal in overtime. Los Angeles lost to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LIII, 13-3.
Robey-Coleman admitted to Bleacher Report's Rob Goldberg after the game he was guilty of defensive pass interference.
“Yes, I got there too early. I was beat, and I was trying to save the touchdown.
I just know I got there before the ball got there. And I whacked his a__.”
Even the NFL admitted the officials missed the call on Robey-Coleman the day after the game.
Had it not been for that call, the Saints could've been in Super Bowl LIII rather than the Rams. Both teams have something to prove when they collide in Week 2 of the 2019 NFL season.
Expect the Saints and the Rams to contend for the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Neither team will give an inch on September 15. For all we know, it could be a prelude to a rematch in the 2019 NFC Championship Game.
Hopefully, there won't be any missed pass interference calls this time around.
