Los Angeles Rams star Aaron Donald hasn't made an official announcement that he's coming back for the 2022 NFL season, but all signs are pointing to that happening. It was recently reported that the Rams are working on a new contract for Donald, and head coach Sean McVay said as much Tuesday morning.

McVay went as far as saying Donald has actually made his decision to not retire and come back to the fold:

There were rumors surrounding both McVay and Donald at the Super Bowl that both men could be moving on. McVay was rumored to be considered a gig in broadcasting, while Donald was considering retirement. McVay is definitely back now after winning his first Super Bowl, and it does appear Donald will be joining him as well after mulling retirement because of his kids.

Assuming the Rams do work out a new contract for Donald, it will be a mammoth one and a well-deserved one. He has arguably been the best defensive player in the NFL for a while, and he played a key role in Los Angeles beating the Cincinnati Bengals in the Super Bowl. While Cooper Kupp deserved Super Bowl MVP for his efforts, Donald had a great argument as well for how he dominated the second half of that game.

The Rams will look a bit different in 2022, with Von Miller off to the Buffalo Bills and Robert Woods now a member of the Tennessee Titans. It also remains to be seen if Odell Beckham Jr. will be back after the signing of Allen Robinson. But as of right now, it looks like Aaron Donald will be back, which is the most important part of this offseason.
