For years, it felt like Matthew Stafford was stuck in NFL purgatory. His level of play was up there with the league's other star quarterbacked, but it just wasn't translating to wins for the Detroit Lions. After years of anguish, he was acquired by the Los Angeles Rams in the offseason.

In his 13th season, at 34 years old, Stafford finally won his Super Bowl ring after the Rams escaped the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday night. But that's not the only Brady milestone Stafford matched.

According to ESPN Statistics & Information, Stafford tied Brady for the most touchdown passes in a season, including the postseason, by a quarterback who won the Super Bowl after also tallying 50.

Stafford and Brady were both written off by some critics for their age, but clearly, they have proven them wrong.

The fact that he endured all those losing seasons with the Lions only made the Super Bowl win more satisfying for Stafford. The Rams' decision to get him was a stroke of genius, and Stafford paid back the team's trust with a rejuvenated campaign.

Now, Stafford is in NFL heaven.
