The Los Angeles Rams are mostly healthy as they prepare for Super Bowl LVI against the Cincinnati Bengals. The only question marks surround the health of Cam Akers, who looks likely to play, and tight end Tyler Higbee. The latter is still yet to practice this week after suffering a sprained MCL versus the 49ers early in the NFC Championship Game.

In Higbee's absence, Kendall Blanton filled in and put forth a solid performance. The Los Angeles tight end recorded five catches for 57 yards, reeling in all five of his targets.

Sports Illustrated's Connor O'Brien captured an interesting quote from Blanton leading up to the big game. “I don't perform well when I make it bigger than it needs to be.” It's not often you hear a professional athlete make a statement like that. He did however qualify it saying “I'm not making this any bigger than it needs to be in my head.”

Nevertheless, the Rams backup tight end is likely to see plenty of action Sunday. Even if Higbee suits up, he will not be close to 100 percent. Blanton caught the first four passes of his three-year NFL career this season. He played just 21 percent of the offensive snaps, mostly as a blocker.

But from the sound of it, Blanton might prove critical for the Rams in Super Bowl LVI.
