Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley has been dealing with a knee issue for the last two weeks, but the Rams have received some great news, as head coach Sean McVay said that Gurley will return to practice on Tuesday, according to Rams insider Myles Simmons.

Gurley originally suffered the knee injury during Los Angeles' loss to the Philadelphia Eagles back in Week 16. In the week leading up to the Rams' season finale against the San Francisco 49ers, all signs seemed to be pointing to Gurley playing, and he said he felt great.

However, perhaps as a precautionary measure, Los Angeles ended up sitting Gurley against the 49ers.

Luckily for the Rams, they were able to lock down a first-round bye, giving Gurley an extra week to get right.

On the year, Gurley rushed for 1,251 yards and a league-leading 17 touchdowns while averaging 4.9 yards per carry. In addition, he hauled in 59 receptions for 580 yards and four scores en route to a Pro Bowl selection.

The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Georgia, was originally selected by the Rams with the 10th overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft.

He had a spectacular rookie campaign, racking up 1,106 yards and 10 touchdowns, earning a trip to Honolulu as a result. Then, after an incredibly disappointing 2016 in which Gurley averaged a meager 3.2 yards per carry, he totaled 1,305 yards and an NFL-best 13 touchdowns last season, also catching 64 passes for 788 yards and six scores. As a result, he made the Pro Bowl and was named a First-Team All-Pro.

The Rams will play host to the Dallas Cowboys in the Divisional Round of the playoffs on Saturday.
