After winning their highly anticipated game against the Los Angeles Rams, the New Orleans Saints have now established themselves as one of Super Bowl favorites. They are currently just half a game behind the Rams and own the tiebreaker. Drew Brees is playing at an MVP level and Michael Thomas is quickly rising as one of the best wideouts in the game.

As if they weren't strong enough, they added former Dallas Cowboys All-Pro receiver Dez Bryant from free agency for the second half of the season.

When Rams running back Todd Gurley was asked what he thought about the Saints' signing, he said:

“About time. It’s about time somebody picked him up. No reason he shouldn’t have been in the league,” Gurley said per Cameron DaSilva of RamsWire.

Bryant was released by the Cowboys this offseason and took nine games to find a new team. He said it was never about the money, and it’s pretty clear that was true. His prorated base salary is just $600,000, which is a bargain for a player of his caliber.

With this signing, the Saints offense look as loaded as ever. With Brees manning the helm, Thomas and Bryant as receivers, and Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram as the running back duo, the Saints have all their bases covered.

This setup also works well for Bryant as he won't have to face the pressure of being the number one receiver. Also, having Drew Brees rather than Dak Prescott throwing you the football certainly helps as well. It will be interesting how better the Saints can be once they fully integrate Bryant to their offense.
