The Los Angeles Rams made waves when they acquired star linebacker Von Miller at the NFL trade deadline. A former Super Bowl MVP, Miller joined forces with Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald, a three-time NFL defensive Player of the Year. Miller spoke about himself and Donald, comparing their partnership to another famous Los Angeles duo, Lakers' legends, Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant.

That is quite the comparison. But Von Miller might have a point about his Rams' pass-rushing partnership with Aaron Donald. As Miller said, he feels like he's better at rushing the passer than anyone, but Donald might just rival him, or anyone else for that matter, in that department. Much like the Lakers, who had two alphas in Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant.

While Bryant wasn't one of the best players in the NBA when Shaq, the league's best center, arrived, he quickly blossomed into one of them during their time together in Los Angeles, as the two wreaked havoc on the rest of the league en route to three championships. The Rams can only hope that Miller and Donald can rise to such heights.

So, while the comparison is a bold one, it certainly makes sense when considering Miller's perspective. And it's fitting that Miller, Donald, Shaq and Kobe were/are all Los Angeles athletes.

Rams' fans hope that Von Miller and Aaron Donald can pull a Shaq-Kobe on the rest of the NFL. If so, they could have a front row seat at SoFi Stadium this February to watch the Los Angeles duo etch their names into the city's record book.
