The table is set for the 2023 World Series. After the Arizona Diamondbacks completed their come-from-behind series victory over the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League Championship Series, the Texas Rangers finally knew which team they'd be preparing for in the Fall Classic.

The Rangers' social media team was ready, too, simply tweeting, “The World Series is set.”

The Rangers also had quite an adventure in the American League Championship Series. After winning the first two games of the series versus the Houston Astros, Texas lost three games in a row. The Rangers, however, were able to recover, winning Games 6 and 7 to dethrone the Astros.

The Diamondbacks, on the other hand, took an interesting route of their own to the World Series. They were circling down the drain after losing Games 1 and 2 of the NLCS but tied it all up by winning Games 3 and 4. The Phillies took a 3-2 series lead with a victory in Game 5 before Arizona hit back with a win in Game 6. The Diamondbacks defied the odds in Game 7 as the road team, as they sent home Bryce Harper and company to vacation with a World Series ticket-clinching 4-2 triumph.

The Rangers franchise has yet to win a World Series and is making its first appearance in the Fall Classic since 2011. The Diamondbacks, meanwhile, have made it back to the grandest stage of baseball for the first time since 2001, when Arizona went all the way and defeated the New York Yankees to win that year's World Series.

The 2023 World Series will kick off on Friday at Globe Life Field in Arlington.
