The Texas Rangers just made another huge splash, coming to terms with star shortstop Corey Seager on a mammoth 10-year, $325 million deal, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan. This comes a day after they nabbed Marcus Semien on a seven-year, $175 million pact.

The Rangers lost 102 games last season and seem determined to spend their way out of the muck. Texas snagged Semien away from the Toronto Blue Jays and now poached Seager away from the Los Angeles Dodgers, who also just lost Max Scherzer to the New York Mets.

The Dodgers did trade for Trea Turner along with Scherzer last season, so they were surely preparing for the possibility of Seager going elsewhere as a free agent. Los Angeles will also now have some financial flexibility to spend elsewhere, but it's still a bit shocking to see them lose two big stars like this on the same day.

Seager had spent his entire career with the Dodgers before joining Texas. He made his Major League debut in 2015 and immediately made a splash. He then made the All-Star Game in 2016 and 2017 before injuries limited him in 2018.

The 27-year-old bounced back in 2019 and 2020, and he had a strong season in 2021 when he was healthy. While Seager was limited to just 95 games, he slashed .306/.394/.521 for a loaded Dodgers club. Los Angeles made it to the NLCS before losing to the Atlanta Braves.

The Rangers are now hoping Seager and Semien will make big impacts in their lineup for years to come.
