Tom Brady is officially a part of the New England Patriots' Hall of Fame.

The legendary quarterback was inducted into the team's Hall of Fame with a glamorous and one-of-a-kind ceremony at Gillette Stadium. The event featured many surprise guests, either in person or on video.

Jay-Z kicked off the night by giving a live performance of “Public Service Announcement,” adding gravitas to the song Brady would take the field to for warmups. It ended with Brady riling up Patriots fans one more time.

Now that the dust has settled, let's rank the best moments from the event.

6. Peyton Manning humbly accepts his role in rivalry with Tom Brady

Many of Brady's former teammates and coaches took the stage at Gillette Stadium on Wednesday night. His top rival was there, too.

Peyton Manning shared the stage with Brady as the two chatted about some of their favorite memories together alongside Mike Tirico. The Pro Football Hall of Famer shared the story of how he and Brady worked out during the 2009 offseason. But Manning realized his standing in his rivalry with Brady, who went 11-6 in his all-time meetings with the former Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos quarterback.

“They like me here because I always lost here,” Manning said.

5. Bill Burr roasts Patriots' rivals

Bill Burr brought some solid jokes, taking the mic twice to roast some of the Patriots' rivals and later pictures of Brady from the past.

“I don’t want to hear about that guy from the Chiefs,” Burr said in one joke on why Bill Belichick's legacy won't be replicated. “Andy Reid is too fat to do that.”

Burr took aim at Josh Allen when a pic of him and Brady together on the golf course was shown.

“Oh, look at Josh Allen! Look at him! Tom Brady just explained the Cover 2 defense to him,” Burr said. “He’s like, ‘Aw, I’ll just run and throw it to somebody on the other side of the field. I don’t care.’ He’s from Wyoming, he’s just happy to see an ocean.”

Even Manning wasn't safe from Burr's roast despite being kind enough to show up for the event.

“Unfortunately, this photo is proof that God doesn’t love everybody,” Burr said when a photo of a much younger Manning and Brady popped up on the screen. “Some people he takes his time on, other people he just kind of slaps them together. I think the angels were like, ‘God, you realize that’s a baby giraffe neck. You do realize that, right?’ And he’s like, ‘Don’t worry, I’ll just put him in the woods in Louisiana with all my other mistakes.'”

4. Tom Brady shares why everyone should play football

Brady's 20-minute-long speech was full of highlights and fun anecdotes. But there were a couple that really stood out.

The first was his plea on why everyone should play football at some point.

“I get asked a lot if my kids play football,” Brady said. “My response is that I’ll support them in any of their dreams. Whatever makes them happy makes me happy.

“I would encourage everyone to play football for the simple reason that it is hard. It’s hard when you’re young and to wake up in the offseason to go train and work out, knowing that all your friends are sleeping in and eating pancakes. It’s hard when you’re on your way to practice, weighed down with all your gear and it’s 90 degrees out and all of the other kids are at the pool or at the beach and your body is already completely exhausted from workouts and two-a-days.

“It’s hard to throw, block, catch and tackle and hit kids when they’re way bigger and way more developed than you, only to go home that night bruised and battered, but knowing that you have to show up the next day for just the chance to try again.

“But understand this — life is hard. No matter who you are, there are bumps and bruises and hits along the way. And my advice is to prepare yourself. Because football lessons teach us that success and achievement come from overcoming adversity and that team accomplishment far exceeds anyone’s individual goals.”

Brady's passionate plea showed the real importance of grinding, holding a strong work ethic and team work. He related all of that together on why the Patriots were so successful for such a long time.

“We led by example,” Brady said. “Nothing in life of significance is ever accomplished alone. That’s the Patriot way. Here in New England, we were the first team ever to take the field in the Super Bowl, not as individuals but as a single unit. That’s us! We did that. And we were the best in the world. And history will never forget that.”

3. Randy Moss and Bill Belichick get warm ovations

As many people have said the Patriots had the greatest quarterback, head coach and tight end in NFL history during their dominant run, they might have had the best receiver in NFL history in Foxborough at one point during the dynasty, too.

At the very least, Randy Moss had the best season ever for a wide receiver in a Patriots uniform. In case you needed a refresher, he had 98 receptions for 1,493 yards and an NFL-record 23 touchdowns in 2007. As Moss retired as one of the greatest to never win a Super Bowl, Patriots fans still gave him their love when he took the stage.

Moss was clearly moved by the ovation.

“Y'all know it's always good to thank this,” Moss said, wiping away tears. “I thank y'all.”

But that wasn't the only time Patriots fans gave someone other than Brady an incredibly warm ovation. When Belichick took the stage, he was also met with a raucous cheer.

“This is such a warm welcome. I can’t tell you how much it means to me to come back here,” Belichick said.

Belichick's appearance was the first time he had been back in Foxborough since the Patriots parted ways with him in January. It allowed Patriots fans to also show their gratitude for Belichick as his final game was in a miserable snowstorm in a half-empty Gillette Stadium.

Belichick also had praise for his former quarterback.

2. Tom Brady gives credit to Bill Belichick

The No. 1 moment of Brady's speech was the recognition he gave to his long-time head coach. In the middle of his 20-minute-long speech, Brady gave Belichick his due after years of debates on which person was more responsible for the Patriots' dynasty.

“Thank you for your tireless commitment to develop and push me to my best,” Brady said to Belichick. “It wasn’t me. It wasn’t you. It was us. Our hard work, our love of the game and the way we worked for one another — that’s what it was all about. Let me make something crystal clear: There is no coach in the world I would rather play for than Bill Belichick.”

Brady's Super Bowl title in Tampa Bay has led to many debates over who was more responsible for the Patriots' dynasty. But the accomplishments that either had elsewhere shouldn't be used to determine what they did in Foxborough over the years. So, hopefully, Brady's take puts an end to the debate on which one was more responsible for the dynasty. You don't win six Super Bowls over two decades without great quarterback play and coaching.

“It was a tremendous honor and a privilege for me to draft Tom and coach him for 20 years,” Belichick said. “As we've heard from so many of his teammates, his pursuit of excellence, his work ethic, the drive, the competitiveness, the unselfishness, everything he brought to the team, it was really an honor for me to be involved with that and to be able to work with him every day and learn from it. We can talk about a lot of his great plays and honestly, we'd be here all night, probably into the middle of next week.”

1. Patriots honor Tom Brady with number retirement, statue

The night ended up being more than just Brady getting inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame. Robert Kraft made the surprise announcement that Brady would be the eighth Patriots player to have his number retired and the first to ever have a statue of himself at Gillette Stadium.

“Tonight, I promise that it will never be worn again as the No. 12 is now officially retired,” Kraft said.

Brady was grateful for everything that happened on the night and in his career with the Patriots.

“It is the honor of my life to take my place among these other Patriot Hall of Famers, and to be officially enshrined into the winning legacy of this amazing organization,” Brady said. “You humble me, you make me proud, and I am eternally grateful. I am Tom Brady, and I am a Patriot.”
