The Toronto Raptors are back in Canada as they prepare to embark on a seven-game homestand. However, Nick Nurse's squad has been struggling immensely and just lost three of five on the road, most recently falling to the Indiana Pacers on Friday.

Star guard Fred VanVleet spoke on their recent play and how he wants to see this young Raptors team respond with authority in the coming days. Via TSN's Josh Lewenberg:

“We've shown it, we've done it. I'm a little sour today because of how we played last night, but we've shown it this year. We've shown who we can be and we've gotta find a way to get that back to where we know it should be at.”

The Raptors are now just 3-7 in their last 10 games and 9-11 overall, which puts them in 12th spot in the Eastern Conference. Toronto enjoyed such a promising start early on, even going on a five-game winning streak at one point. But since then, the Raptors have looked flat and are dealing with injuries, most notably with OG Anunoby, who has been out with a hip problem.

The Raptors were simply outplayed on Friday by the Pacers and also shot a dreadful 23% from downtown. They'll have a chance to bounce back on Sunday against the Boston Celtics but as VanVleet said, Toronto needs to come together as a group and play harder.
