Prior to the All-Star break, Toronto Raptors fans were riding a massive high. Two of their young guys (Scottie Barnes and Precious Achiuwa) were selected to the Rising Stars contest, while Fred VanVleet earned his first All-Star selection. Add to that a massive streak of games with wins against Miami, Charlotte, and Atlanta, and it seemed like they were on the right track.

However, the last few games of the Raptors have been… awful. After getting blown out by the Hornets in their first game after the All-Star break, they laid another goose egg against Trae Young and the Hawks. A 32-point and 27-point loss to teams in their current team does not bode well for their chances.

“I believe in this team. I think we'll be back to playing at the level that we need to be playing at, hopefully sooner than later. I take full responsibility for the poor performances and I'm looking forward to getting this team back to where we need to be.”

Certainly, this Raptors team has the potential to hang with the very best. Two wins against a top contender in the Miami Heat prove that. However, this team is still raw to the bone, with young players all over the place. Add to that a major injury to OG Anunoby and Fred VanVleet dealing with a knee issue, and there's cause for concern in Toronto.

Still, that doesn't mean the season is over for the Raptors. There's plenty of time to accomplish their goals: whether it's competing for the playoffs or developing the young talent they have on the roster.
