The Toronto Raptors have really turned their season around. This is despite former All-Star Goran Dragic playing next to no action for the team this season before getting traded at the deadline.

Goran Dragic played five games for Toronto this season for a grand total of 90 minutes of action before both sides agreed it would be beneficial for him to sit things out.

Fred VanVleet was asked about the player they got in return for Dragic in veteran forward Thaddeus Young. The Raptors All-Star responded with some subtle shade mixed in at his former teammate.

Via Raptors reporter Michael Grange:

“Great piece, great addition … especially when the other guy was sitting at home,” said VanVleet on Raptors trading Dragic for Young.

From the get-go, it seemed like Goran Dragic's exit from Toronto seemed imminent since he arrived in the trade that sent Kyle Lowry to the Miami Heat.

There were immediately rumors of a possible buyout in order for Dragic to join his fellow Slovenian Luka Doncic as a secondary playmaker on the Dallas Mavericks.

While it took much longer than expected, Goran Dragic is no longer on the Raptors' roster – and it sounds like Fred VanVleet isn't exactly mourning the loss.
