Toronto Raptors superstar Kawhi Leonard has been regarded as one of the best defensive players in the league for several years. The quiet but deadly forward has racked up defensive awards, winning Defensive Player of the Year twice (2015, 2016), appearing three times on the All-Defensive First Team(2015-17) and once on the All-Defensive Second Team (2014), and leading the league in steals (2015).

One statistic that stands out that really shows how good Kawhi Leonard is defensively is his steal-to-foul ratio. As of Monday night, the Raptors star has recorded 753 career steals, while only amassing 735 personal fouls.

Getting more steals than fouls is extremely rare in the NBA. Currently, there is only one more active player who holds that status in Jimmy Butler, who is no slouch defensively either.

While Kawhi Leonard and Butler are the only active players who have more steals than fouls, there are nine retired players who have accomplished the feat. Among these defensive specialists are Allen Iverson, Jason Kidd, and Maurice Cheeks.

Leonard has proven that he is a lockdown defender, but he has become a top five player in this league by taking his offensive game to the next level. From 2011-2016, Kawhi Leonard upped his points per game average each season, while still keeping his defensive numbers consistent. His numbers this season are especially impressive, as he is averaging 25.5 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and half a block per game while leading the Raptors to the best record in the league.

Now that Kawhi Leonard is free of the drama that dogged him all last season, he has shown everyone that he can truly dominate the league on both ends of the floor.
