Toronto Raptors superstar Kawhi Leonard is known as a no-nonsense guy who doesn't show much emotion and gives straightforward answers to the media, making him almost seem like a robot.
However, Raptors teammate Kyle Lowry insists Leonard is a fun guy who likes to joke around, according to Michael Lee of The Athletic:
“Right away, first day,” Lowry told The Athletic about when he realized how special Leonard was. “People don’t know, he really is an unbelievable dude, really an unbelievable guy. It’s fortunate for us to be on our team and to be around him. He jokes. He really laughs and has fun with everything. He really is a good guy.”

It's no surprise Lowry is sticking up for his teammate here, and perhaps it's actually true, but we certainly haven't seen this side of Leonard much. When the Raptors star did show some emotion at his infamous media day press conference, it was rather awkward and immediately became one of the most popular memes of the NBA season.
Ultimately, it doesn't really matter if Leonard shows a lot of emotion. What matters are his results on the court, and he has arguably been the best player in these playoffs. Leonard has Toronto in the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history, averaging 31.2 points, 8.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists while shooting 50.7% overall and 38.8% from 3-point land this postseason.
Plus, by all accounts, Leonard is a good teammate. A player doesn't have to be vocal and emotional to have the respect of his teammates, and Kawhi Leonard has done a terrific job leading the Raptors to a place they've never been.
