The Toronto Raptors have issued a statement following allegations shooting guard Terence Davis assaulted his girlfriend.

The statement pointed to the Joint NBA-NBPA Policy on Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse as the primary mediator, and also declared the Raptors would fully comply with any pending league investigation.

Terence Davis was arrested and charged with assaulting a woman and criminal mischief after an argument with his girlfriend turned physical (via ESPN):

A 20-year-old woman told police she went to visit her boyfriend, (Terence) Davis, and that the two got into a verbal dispute, a police spokeswoman said. Davis then hit the woman in the face, hurting her eye, and grabbed her phone and broke its screen, Detective Sophia Mason said in a statement.

According to a criminal complaint, the woman's son was standing next to her when Davis hit her, causing the son to fall.

The NBA figures to investigate the Terence Davis matter further before the league and NBPA determine punishment, pending further charges.

Terence Davis was involved in a far less serious matter during the restart, though he still faced a backlash.

The 23-year-old was photographed having poked a hole in his mask during the NBA restart, leading to a forceful reminder from the league regarding mask policy and general player safety.

Terence Davis averaged 7.5 points and 3.3 rebounds in just over 16 minutes per game for the Raptors during the regular season, and he also shot close to 39 percent from beyond the arc as a vital floor-spacer and athletic playmaker off the bench.

However, it remains to be seen what Terence Davis' future is in Toronto after his arrest.
