Toronto Raptors point guard Fred VanVleet appears to be making the most of his summer vacation. The 24-year-old decided to drive around the city on Tuesday, and treated some fans to a pickup game cameo.

VanVleet himself shared a bit of the experience via his Twitter account.

One of the VanVleet's opponents shared a brief video clip on his Instagram account which had an excellent view of the incoming third-year man casually showing off his handles. It just so happened that the guy who posted this video is the very same dude VanVleet burned on the clip.

After a breakout sophomore year with the Raptors last season, VanVleet's efforts were rewarded by a nomination for the Sixth Man of the Year Award. Coming off the Toronto bench, the 6-foot point guard contributed 8.6 points, 1.4 three-pointers, 2.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 0.9 steals as Kyle Lowry's primary backup.

VanVleet's contributions to his team were suitably recognized by the Raptors as they signed the Rockford, Illinois native to a two-year extension worth $18 million.

Keeping VanVleet was an important step for the Raptors as they prepare to field a new-look squad in the upcoming season. The DeMar DeRozan era is officially over, and the keys to the city has been passed on to former San Antonio Spurs star Kawhi Leonard.

Despite the host of top-to-bottom changes in the squad, VanVleet is looking at a similar role this season. Nonetheless, with a new coach in town, it is essential that VanVleet proves his worth if he hopes to be the first name called form the bench.
