MMA retirements! Everyone knows retiring in MMA means very little and Rashad Evans helps prove that point by announcing that he's back competing again.

The former UFC light heavyweight champion has signed for Khabib Nurmagomedov's MMA promotion, Eagle FC. Rashad Evans will be fighting at light heavyweight.

The news was first reported by Yahoo! Sports. The UFC Hall of Famer does not have an opponent yet but one is expected to be announced in the near future.

Khabib Nurmagomedov recently announced that Eagle FC would be coming to the USA in 2022 and the first card will be taking place in Florida. Currently, Evans will be competing on the January 28 card.

Rashad Evans retired from MMA back in the summer of 2018 after suffering a quick knockout loss to Anthony Smith. The former champion went on to retire quickly.

Rashad Evans had big problems with injuries in his later career which even saw him take a few years off from fighting. There's no doubt the long break will have helped his body recover.

The former UFC light heavyweight champion had a tough run before retiring, as he went on a five-fight losing streak. He fought in MMA's light heavyweight and middleweight division during that run.

The seeds of retirement were first planted back in 2016 when Rashad Evans lost to Glover Teixeira by knockout. He did interviews afterward where he said things didn't come as easy for him in MMA.

Eagle FC is expected to make some big signings in MMA and will no doubt be bolstered by their relationship with management group Dominance MMA. The promotion is expected to have a big press conference later this month.
