The NBA community received tragic news on Wednesday morning as Rasual Butler and his wife, Leah LaBelle, both died in a car accident in Studio City, CA. Players from past and present and even reporters expressed their sadness with his untimely passing, as he was only 38 years old.

When his Instagram account was checked though, the last post the former 13-year NBA pro made appears to be a sign of premonition, as he preached a strong message for his followers to be themselves always and not try to be like other people.

The swingman out of La Salle was the 53rd overall pick back in 2002 by the Miami Heat. He suited up for eight different NBA teams as he bounced around the league during his playing days. Butler also had a stint in the G-Leauge five years ago before receiving a call-up to return to action at the highest level.

Butler was known to be a deadly shooter especially from beyond the arc. He played in a total of 809 games and owns career averages of 7.5 points, including 36.2 percent from 3-point distance, to go along with 2.4 rebounds in 21.3 minutes per game.

His last Instagram post can be considered as a final message to the world from Butler and something that can be used by his family, friends, and fans to honor him as he will forever be remembered by those who matter to him the most as a kind person who was always there to help others in need, and not changing himself to please anyone.
